Here at Rusizi District the study is different from other districts of Rwanda. The historical background is different. We live near a big lake and a sector such Nkombo is island in Lake Kivu. According to the history of people who live there, in the time of Kingdom (about 70 years ago) a woman who could have an illegal pregnancy (having a child from an illegal marriage) had to be rejected in the lake and die. With Colonialism and independence that bad culture stopped but it still remains in the mind of people there. The child from an illegal marriage is a big mistake and those kids are a not considered in the community there. They do not have only the manner of studying but also not having primary needs like eating! The past is the past! We are not able to do any thing on the past. But now we are supposed to act as a good Samaritan. Love of our neighbour. There is a serious case of malnutrition in this area of western province in Rusizi District. So we have zone in Gikundwe Sector of Uzabaho Grace Mission that has an initiative of feeding 500 kids a week on Saturday. We gather from their neighbour foods to feed the kids. Now we are going to teach how to cook and what to eat. Here they're used to eating only rice and beans! Funny enough, helping does not require big things. Helping is helping as we do not have much to give but heart of giving others is enough! Even talking and be with them. It encourages them and interests them too. We will feed them, rice(1300 kg), sugar(1300 kg) and beans(1500kg) .please even 1 dollar could change life.
