Poverty mars the physical and psychological health of girls and boys. It hinders their chances of acquiring the skills, capacities and confidence they need to reach their full potentials.
Children living in poverty are deprived of essential materials, conditions and services; they are excluded on the basis of their age, gender, class, caste etc. and they are vulnerable to the increasing array of threats in their environment.
