The easiest way to raise money for an indigent child is to host a fundraiser as a way of receiving birthday presents. Birthdays are a great time to spread the word about the importance of effective giving without appearing too pushy, and you’ll most likely find that your friends and family will be receptive to learning about how they can help!

Here you would learn how to donate your birthday to charity from start to finish.

Step 1

Make a Pledge: After you have made a decision to gift your birthday to Charity, fill the form above or you can click on this link to get started.

Step 2

Start a Campaign: This part is very easy, once your birthday is drawing near, we would send you a reminder to “Create a Fundraising Page.” After which you would have to

1. Sign up on the fundraising platform fundraise.theinnercitymission.ngo
2. Upload a picture of yourself
3. Select your choice of project from a list of categories that will be outlined.
4. Upload a 2 minute video of yourself where you would give details of the project you have chosen. (A script/ guide would be sent to you).
5. You would also need to give information on how long you intend to run the campaign.

Step 3

Spread The Word: Get on all social media platforms and let everyone on your contact list know. Let them in on the reasons why you are doing this. You won't raise any money simply by creating the page and letting it sit there. Instead, you have to promote it! The more time you put in here, the more money you'll raise. Friends and family (even distant family) are good potential donors. You can send several messages like this depending on your choice of project:

Hi good morning

I'm donating my birthday to charity! Instead of giving me a present, I'd love for you to help me give a child a two square meal. Just (1,000 naira) provides a meal for an hungry child, which would help them to stay healthy and reduce the death rate all over the world .

To this end, your project would have a unique link which you can share, this will take them directly to your page, where they can directly sponsor your campaign. Immediately after this, they would get an email notification from the site and you too will be notified.

All payment platforms are supported and you can encourage your friends to give online, it’s safe, fast and secure.

Step 4

Completion/Update: When you have reached your project target, we'll use the funds you've raised to fund the project. You'll see the updates in pictures and you can share this with everyone who sponsored it.
