Celebrating Christmas with 500 Christmas Portions for Indigent Children
Nehemiah 8:10 reads: "Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto the Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength!"
It is very easy to enjoy the festivities of Christmas, without ever once thinking that Christmas is just not a reality for many around the world, particularly children who were born into unfortunate circumstances that were not of their own doing. We believe that is why the Lord instructed as he did in the scripture above; because it is great to celebrate, but it is complete when we "send portions".
This year, for the first time, BLW Campus Ministry chapters in Maryland and California, USA, is hosting this special campaign to fund 500 Christmas portions for children; it costs only $5 for a "portion" that contains a meal, a toy and the Rhapsody of Realities for Kids.
Though you may not be a member of the Campus Ministry, you may have been invited by your friend or family member. Support their charitable effort by giving to sponsor at least one meal.
